To determine more accurate UPS power requirements, you simply add up the power consumption of the switch, adapter, IP endpoint, and the power lost to the cabling as line loss.
As a general formula.
Power draw = Switch power consumption + line loss + adapter power consumption + endpoint power consumption.
Example:
Switch power consumption: 17W
Each Phylink Adapter: Approx 1W
Line Loss: You can calculate this using our PoE Distance calculator available on our website.
Once you have the final value, include a 10% buffer and that should be the value used as the wall power draw in order to spec out a UPS.
