Ferrite filters can reduce or eliminate high frequency noise. Note that they will not stop direct voltage induction. Their uses are limited but if high frequency voltage is being inducted onto a line, a ferrite can drastically reduce this impact.
Ferrite filters come in various shapes and sizes. NVT Phybridge recommends toroid (donut) shaped devices be installed with the cabling looping through several times (3-5 turns is ideal).
- Resistance: 110 Ohm
- Maximum Cable Diameter: 27mm
- Packaging Options: Available individually or in cartons of 30
Installation Guide
-
Identify the Cable: Choose the cable where noise issues have been detected.
-
Open the Ring: Snap the ferrite ring open along its seam.
-
Wrap the Cable: Position the cable within the ring, close to the connector that plugs into the device. And if possible wrap the cable on the ferrite filter as many times as is available, 3-5 turns is ideal.
-
Close the Ring: Snap the ring shut around the cable. Ensure it is positioned snugly without squeezing the cable excessively.
